as a jrpg fan, my primary interests in video games are raising and lowering sewer gates, such as to manipulate the water level

Fill some dungeons with substances other than water to give the illusion that they're not THE water dungeon, but still operate on water dungeon logic. IE, one entirely filled with ... tartar sauce.

"You guys are being super paranoid. This isn't a reskinned water dungeon alright? I know this because this tartar sauce dungeon doesn't have levers, it has bowls you dunk tasty fried shrimp into."

I can't relate - as an indie horror fan, my turn-ons include always crouching (quiet) and NPCs with PS1 graphics giving me nonsense speeches (their voice sounds are just looped industrial scratches or maracas)

Imagine my disappointment realizing, after years of doing sliding across ice floor puzzles, that actually sliding where ever you want on ice is not that hard and it's actually very easy to change directions without hitting a wall when I went curling for the first time

Path of Exile 2 has a zone that is just you running through it and throwing switches to lower the water. it is one of the most tedious and boring zones in the game and that's even after they patched it to remove like six switches

if your RPG dungeon does not have at least one sokoban puzzle are you really doing it properly?

I also have expertise into finding and catching any tipe of farm animal that is stading up a couple of steps away of their owner, who, due to high astigmatism levels, is somehow unable to grasp their presence.
