it is more than a little depressing just how many people are willing to throw out all sense of ethics, boundaries, rights and empathy if applied to someone who has committed enough or frankly any wrongdoing

I won't speak on British politics, but um, of course ethics works in that at a point a person deserves violence if they do enough violence. If I murdered someone every day, at a certain point confining me or killing me is the anti-violence stance.

You understand that as the colonizer of the world, England of course is teaching you that no amount of violence done to others justifies counter-violence. You're not being a good person with this. Just horribly on the side of people with guilty consciences because...British.

Do you understand how many people would be out of poverty if instead of enduring the wrongdoing of your ancestors their ancestors killed yours at the first offense? When the first world talks about peace, they mean victims should endure in silence.

People Online have forgotten to have any empathy for anyone. It's extremely discomforting when I see video footage of a suspect getting killed and people are like 'one less undesirable stealing our oxygen!' Even if they were a criminal, that attitude scares me, it's dark as fuck

even if every one of the worst accusations thrown at jason arday was true it would not justify the way the british press acted. it is not relevant. being hounded to death by the british media is not, at least yet, the legal punishment for conviction of any crime

got in a taxi here once and the driver went on about a Sainsbury we passed selling the Sun under the counter and throwing shit at it with a local group every day until they stopped. also said Starmer was bringing back the Labour he loved and supported. the United Fucking Kingdom

its crazymaking. gotta tip your hat to the nazis and say they may have had a point and act like that gives me more credibility in my critiques. why. they want you dead too you know

Yup. And those who are defending the press are conveniently ignoring the main factor that contributes to moments like this. bsky.app/profile/fish...

I think a lot of people are extremely ignorant to how much volume is a factor. even mild criticism can feel overwhelming when the volume is high enough. being exposed to 100 people saying your work sucks feels. Someone might think it's just their one comment but it's death by a thousand cuts
