it's upsetting bc on some level i do think it's the sort of thing we need to talk about. at least, the piece resonated with me. otoh, things are too fucked to trust anyone with this discourse. inter-community drama becomes a circus to them.

these kinds of conflicts happen so often in our own communities that there's no reason we can't talk about this when it's happening to people we know and when we have the power to try and mitigate these kinds of disagreements, we don't need to know about it happening in other states

found value in it bc communities can sometimes be a bit of a bubble. it's not always easy to gauge what you're doing right or wrong... but maybe that's bc i'm a bit of a pushover haha. that said, you're right. the voyeurism of it all is really unwelcome & i can't divorce it from the zeitgeist rn.

You know? When I saw the reference by NYT Pitchbot, I thought it was a made-up story about a topic guaranteed to make MAGA fume. Perhaps even the winner in a contest: "Come Up With a News Story That Will Make MAGA Tear Their Hats in Half." But no--it's real, and it's spectacular.

lets all, nationally, point and laugh at the community disputes of a lesbian bar. The Greenfield Lesbian Situation is Crazy. this is serious journalism we're doing here
