Trump: The fake news only covered the ass part. They said 'what the hell was Trump doing talking about a man's anatomy? He was talking about his ass.' I studied his ass to see where the power came from

w/r/t AI, there is no point in pretending to be "reasonable" about an act of profound violence against everything that matters

Ultimately, of course, you simply cannot get left-wing propaganda out of a fascist machine designed to flatten reality into a corporatized slurry of meaninglessness.

Ryan McDiarmid reposted

Another reason to not use AI is of course that it's a vector for not only corporate censorship but outright manipulation. You are prompting a system built by and designed to serve corporations' version of reality. And open models won't save you; they're distilled from the corporate models.

Anat Shenker-Osorio@anatosaurus.bsky.social

Among things Meta did in Brazil was have their AI bot within WhatsApp allow users to generate election poster for Flavio but deny requests to do so for Lula. When folks asked for posters for invented candidates, AI tagged them with #22 - Flavio's # - in a country where folks vote by #.

real simple litmus test for a leader in any capacity but especially elected office: any blanket concern or dismissal of holding wrongdoers accountable is more concerned about themselves or their stakeholders being held accountable than the actual handling of justice do not trust the DNC. period

uchikoshi pretty literally said this too in that inteview recently and idk yall. if you view your coworkers as obstacles instead of collaborators maybe you're just a bad leader

I appreciate the bar is quite low but this excerpt from an interview with Molyneux about AI is almost too on the nose. Nice anecdote about a colleague he used to respect and enjoy working with, followed by an explanation of how him and everyone like him is now expendable.

I love having a concept artist because 99% of the time the thing the concept artist draws is going to be so much better than what I’m imagining. That’s why I’m the writer and they’re the artist. Can’t fathom thinking this way

NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

gamefile.newsWho made the art inside Control Resonant? When the developers of Control Resonant needed to fill their video game version of New York City with art galleries, they tapped the talents of people they knew particularly well

There are some artists I really liked whose work I will simply never look at or recommend again because of this.

Nathan Anderson@nathanandersonart.bsky.social

Still have a lot of residual irritation about artists that did the NFT grift, which at the very least, helped contribute/precluded the AI problem we have now. This gross crypto-entrepreneurial shit that I'll forever associate with their work.

sorry, a big local knowingly ignored the rules to do something that makes the whole org look unprincipled. this is what you WANT a national committee for! a candidate who was defending israel as they bombed hospitals should not get to tout their affiliation with you!

party endorsing a candidate is a bigger deal than saying "vote for this person" in a voting guide and has certain requirements. Raman has a terrible track record on a required policy plank that DSA-LA pointedly didn't ask her about, because they wanted to endorse as a foregone conclusion. that's BAD

Ryan McDiarmid reposted

I'm not even invested in defending DSA (did not much like my local) but it's bizarre seeing a mass socmed freakout over a situation that a friend in DSA-LA already explained to me, in which it sounds like the NPC is just looking for a sensible route out of a bad situation

Peter Sterne@petersterne.com

NEW: DSA's National Political Committee passed two resolutions today aimed at Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, beginning processes that could result in DSA-LA being forced to rescind its endorsement of her this weekend and/or Raman herself being expelled from DSA by January.

I had dreams that I was having weird conversations with Nathan Fielder all night.

You Can See Everything is like watching the particulate swirl around a black hole for three hours and I loved every minute of it.

Nithya Raman has worked with Zionist organizations, has stated her belief that Israel has a right to exist, and has condemned Palestinian resistance. Regardless of one's personal feelings about compromise and electoralism, it is absurd for an antizionist socialist organization to endorse her.

Like don’t get me wrong I’d love to see the Indian Act replaced by something written & defined directly by First Nations people but —given this government has repeatedly treated Indigenous consultation as an obstacle/nuisance to their national designs— I don’t think that’s what this is…

Reading this Famitsu interview Uchikoshi did and it seems that the reason the Crash Keys game was canceled was because *Uchikoshi* wanted to use AI, not the publisher. This snippet is driving me nuts. Makes all the posturing with Hundred Line read extremely shallow.

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.
