Right conclusion wrong reasons. Snipers suck to play against in most games because they can't be interacted with. They're so far away that, while they can attack you and change your gameplay, you can't really change theirs. You're in their shooting gallery and have no recourse but to run away

its funny how snipers get balanced in different games. Marvel Rivals was like "okay we'll make it so our sniper character cannot oneshot and require skill to secure kills" and she was the least popular character in the game until they gave up and reworked her into a non-sniper with a normal gun

Still wrong conclusion. There are dynamics in team-based shooters above and beyond the one-on-one. A sniper can provide denial over a limited area at the cost of limited mobility and direct engagement potential. If a sniper can go toe-to-toe in a firefight, that’s just a poorly balanced sniper.

I mean, look at Apex Legends. It fully agrees with this. 3/4 of the snipers cannot instant kill. The fourth is a special weapon with extremely slow reload/firerate. And even if you do down them, they can crawl away to safely to be brought back up by teammates and heal before you can confirm it.
