Hideo Kojima proposed a "forgetting game" that the player would have to “play through quickly.” In this concept, the main character gradually forgets important information and abilities if you take too long a break from the game. bit.ly/4kiro8U

I mean I always forget stuff in Skyrim, Oblivion even Elden Ring. The amount of times I just YouTube it. Why bother. Just make it no quest log like Elden Ring. Maybe make a system where you lose your experience points and level in skills like magic, blade, blunt weapons if you stop using em

i feel like gaming is already like that. i have so many half finished games that i dont go back to because i forget the combos and mechanics since the last time i played, when i do go back i get destroyed because i forget about blocking or something.

This is why the greatest auteurs require the greatest editors. This is a terrible idea. Either you no-life the game and don't see this mechanic, or you have a job and the game becomes frustrating.

This but it starts at the beginning of the game and as you play you start to lose your memory until you forget all the maps and everything. So if you play too long you’re just wandering in darkness and fog and need to restart.

Isn't it enough that I forget things when I take long breaks from a game? There are games I have had to restart after coming back to because I had no idea what I was doing.
