Exactly. All this talk of "debate" should be nixed. The debate is over. Both sides know Brexit was a failure (although some refuse to admit it). We don't need a debate over 2+2=5. We don't need a debate over Brexit or rejoining.

Agree, esp considering the referendum we had was not binding, only advisory, and would have been null and void due to illegal funding of the Leave campaign if it had been binding.

Even if we did there’s a lot of evidence that a large part of the demographic group that voted leave aren’t with us any more. My old man was one of them. If they did a referendum tomorrow it wouldn’t be close, rejoin would win.

Adopting the Euro and joining Schengen both offer real benefits to the UK. Aside from increased membership costs, really the only problem here is the jingoistic tendencies of an ill-educated segment of the UK electorate.

Add to George's reasons to rejoin: solidarity with other liberal democracies and mutual defence in the face of threat from larger authoritarian regimes.

I agree but I also think he’s right not to focus heavily on that because there are a great many people that would immediately think it’s just conspiracy theory and ignore all the other stuff. Cutting through ignorance isn’t easy.
