A lot of “pro data centre” accounts popping up with ridiculous “data” showing how good they are for local economies. Utter bollocks. If in doubt go to one and ask yourself “Would I want one near me?” They genuinely sound like a jet aircraft and the toxic coolants leak and contaminate the water…

And the huge ones employ 100-200 people max, with few people locally. Then there is the massive amount of power they consume which they get discounts and tax rebates on (you won’t) but you’ll supplement it with increased bills. The list goes on. Nobody actually benefits by having one in their town
