70% of the additional spending from removing the two-child limit will go to families who are in work. This is targeting support for low-income working households who are being priced out of a decent standard of living despite doing everything asked of them.

Meanwhile, the boss of AO World - who has made £18 MILLION pretax profit in 6 months says it’s madness to pay £8 Million to his workers to meet minimum wage requirements. & too many accept this as a reasonable statement Corporate capture by greedy scum www.leighjournal.co.uk/news/nationa...

leighjournal.co.uk‘Madness’ to increase welfare spending in Budget, says AO World bossChief executive John Roberts urged the Chancellor to cut spending and ‘make some difficult decisions’.

I had "intelligent" people criticise me for saying "increase the Minimum Wage". "No, let business pay peanuts & make up the difference with increased UC. You must be a Tory if you don't want the State to subsidise jobs". They don't worry that businesses are then making money from the taxpaying poor

Market capitalisation is £631m, so £18m in 6 months is a return of 2.8%. After tax, they'd probably do better putting the money in a cash ISA. If they increase pay by £10m they'd definitely do better in a cash ISA. Yes,seems reasonable. They'll have to raise prices.

The economic benefits from scrapping two child limit can outweigh the initial costs. Some estimate the wider economic burden of child poverty at £39bn a year – lifting 10 per cent of children out of poverty will help alleviate this.

Plus the future reduction in health care, SEND, criminality etc etc. These kids will have a chance to be productive members of society oooo they might even end up owning a house worth 2m or more! Labour could have done this last year

Yes, that can happen to anyone. And some families limit themselves to one child due to finances anyway. But in this day & age, with an overpopulated planet, why does anyone need to have a large family? Long gone are the days when half of the children born can be expected to die in infancy.

Everything asked of them except not having children that they can't afford. There are people who would have liked more children but didn't because they couldn't afford them. But it is an interesting statistic, so thank you for that.
