Artists on twitter are currently having a huge anti-tracing shitfight where certain artists are actually delusional enough to compare tracing 3D models to using AI. It is a truly fucking miserable and unserious place.

The only valid way to draw becomes charcoal on the face of a cave but only if you've made sure to never look at the subject of what you're drawing, actually just be blind, claw your eyes out, thats the only way it comes from real raw self-created suffering-built skill!!!

mixed media is cheating! Photography is cheating! The only real and valid skill is accurately capturing something with lines you draw with nothing but your hand, using minimal-to-no reference! Composition? Design? Colour-grading? Compositing? Typography? Silhouette? Those aren't real skills i guess!

it just feels like the hunting for AI stuff has fully devolved into any excuse to try and “catch artists out” regardless of if you understand what they’re doing. i’m so tired of it
