Let's be clear about what happened today. Premier Smith introduced a bill to strip Albertans of Charter rights, denied MLAs the opportunity to debate it and the courts the ability to scrutinize it, and did all of this from her seat on a jet to Saudi Arabia.

The UCP government has invoked time allocation and on a bill removing Albertans' Charter rights. And they're using the notwithstanding clause to do it. Here's why that is a dangerous precedent. And why real conservatives need to stand up against it. open.substack.com/pub/drjaredw...

Don't give #GovernorFord any ideas about inflicting further unconstitutional dirty tricks on the people of #Ontario. #FordIsDestroyingOntario #SmithIsDestroyingAlberta #NotwithstandingAbuse #onpoli #aboli #cdnpoli

Its time for a province wide general strike. Perhaps something rotating to reduce harm to the vulnerable but this corrupt gangster regime that's running Alberta needs to be stopped and we can't wait any longer.

I can’t believe this. This ENORMOUS, expensive government gave themselves raises and didn’t come back to the legislature early to do the hard work required of our representatives during a strike. They are lazy, wretched cheaters.

This bill sets several *incredibly* dangerous precedents - you either have rights or you don't. The UCP is not only overriding collective bargaining rights, but the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Human Rights Act, the Labour Relations Board, and the Alberta Bill of Rights as well.
