An absolutely exquisite experience is getting pulled over in the freeway carpool lane, only to hit the trooper with the SURPRISE 3-YEAR-OLD

In Phoenix years ago a friend, who was a paralegal at the time, was pulled over in the carpool lane with her infant son in the back. The cop ticketed her anyway, saying only adults count.

🤣 The cop told my friend, “Infants don’t count or next thing you know pregnant women will claim they can drive in the HOV lane.” She printed out the relevant AZ statute and sent it in with the citation to the relevant court clerk and it was dismissed.

I'm kind of surprised there aren't places that go by count of valid driver's licenses, since you're not really pooling cars if someone in there couldn't be driving their own one.

Do they not have those infrared cameras that count the number of warm creatures per car in the states

I'm not sure how the tech works but evidently this is not a problem in the many countries that use this tech, like new zealand where I live

When the Tesla was new (~2014) I had a Model S with the rear facing seats in the trunk area and once got pulled over inbthe HOV lane w the kids back there. Cop saw them smiling as he passed the rear window and after that mostly just wanted to talk about how cool the car was.

My husband and I used to carpool and I am a sleepy girl so in the mornings I'd recline my seat and he always complained that he was gonna get pulled over in the carpool lane. Then one day he got pulled over and I put my seat up and the cop said "never mind" through the loudspeaker.

I had two kids in the back and got flagged out of carpool because they didn’t see the kids 🤷‍♀️ hope you didn’t end up late.
