Is it really the objective of media rags like these to consciously mislead and manipulate the public into continuing on our path of chaos and decline? If so, they really seem to be doing an excellent job!
Probably too much to ask but it would be useful if we could keep in mind that this is a global bond sell off and therefore unlikely to be driven by UK policy.
Very tedious. Vested interests ventriloquising unrelated market movements.
Even when movements could feasibly be said to be related, day-day or weekly changes are essentially due to gambling and true value is about the projected gains of any spending over time, which is never mentioned.
Even if it was, why do we never hear about scrutiny of the bond markets? Like, who's behind them, their political affiliations, who's had back-handers from whom? If there's going to be such slavish political attention to them, why not get them under the microscope?
Of course, but then these outlets fooled people into thinking that Labour were responsible for a global financial recession back in 2010, and people fell for hook, line and sinker. They managed to stretch that line out for over a decade after.
I agree in principle but don’t expect it to stop our press being subverted for political purposes by British owners. The press isn’t there to serve us facts and truth. It’s there simply to make money for its owners. Lies sell sadly.
The once honourable Telegraph descended into shit and is still shit. Fucking Tory boy wankers like Tim Stanley, thinking the country is their personal debating society, hold too much sway and no journalistic skill.
The sooner they are cleared out, the quicker it can regain it's lost position.
All journalists writing anything about government finance, and their editors, should be forced to manage their own SIPPs with no other fallback pension arrangement (including state pension) allowed.
Even if they don't learn anything at least they'd be there in the market to trade against.
