it makes me sad when i see trans people talk about how they hate being trans. while it's been tough and made my life harder in ways, it's also been one of the biggest blessings in my life. the perspective on life i have, people i know, and who i am are informed by me being trans

Being trans makes me so happy. That others can hate that about themselves is devastating. I wouldn't choose to be cis even if I could. Trans is metal as fuck

I don't necessarily hate being trans, per se. I hate the fact that my body feels so disgusting to me and that there are experiences that I crave which I'll never have because I'm not cis AFAB.

While I don't pass at all and have some horrible shit said to me it's still the best thing I've ever done. It's freeing to finally be yourself after 30ish years, and I've made incredible friends since coming out.

being trans actually whips so much ass. you get to experience something so rare and gorgeous; you get to challenge everything you thought you knew about yourself in order to become more than you are, and you work to accept all that and GROW. i wouldn't trade it for anything. 😌

thats how i think of it too. how many people transition to be a girl version of the asshole they already were? whats the point if we dont grow, nurture, sacrifice. it just happens to be a great opportunity to really meaningfully grow.

I will never hate who I am again. I did all I could to take that burden off my shoulders and choose to keep living. I love who I am. All that's left of my hate I choose to give to those who saw it's absence, and schemed to fill the space with theirs. Never let them make you hate who you are.

when I was a christian, I would pray that I'd wake up a different gender, or that all of my queerness would concentrate in my little finger or toe and I could cut it off i still feel like that sometimes i think that's also part of the experience, being comfortable with not knowing

All I’d change is figuring it out earlier. Not even for physical reasons. Figuring myself out has created such a fundamental shift in my relationship with the world around me. I was trans the whole time, I should have been feeling this way that whole time too.

I think that's how I feel too. Being able to be myself from a much earlier age would've been so empowering. I walked through high school in a daze, barely paying attention to the people around me. It would've been nice to have enjoyed my teenage years. Oh also a non-clocky voice would've been cool.

I've been very lucky to live in a supportive community, but being trans has also hurt me in a lot of serious ways. Even if it ends up killing me, I'm so glad to be trans. It forced me to discover myself in a deeper way than many people can ever imagine

Transition kinda feels like a blessing in the way that a prosthetic leg is an improvement over having been born with no leg, yes. Yet I can't imagine escaping the feeling that I would have preferred my own leg. I'm very happy that I can walk but I will only ever wish things were otherwise.

I found out about a month or so ago. Yes, it has made life a bit complicated in ways, but holy shit! A lifetime of background radiation anxiety and self hatred lifted off me in an instant. I have never wanted to live more now, despite the current horror show.

the world wants us to hate ourselves for not fitting into normal society, thankfully there's so many of us now. its important to surround yourself with community, it's been one of the most rewarding aspects of life is the amount of amazing, smart, beautiful trans people i've met

I hate to be in the camp you're describing but realizing I was trans was literally the worst thing that ever happened to me. If I could have transitioned I would not hate it so much but I live in a country that won't allow it and my partner isn't keen on the idea either

cis people are boring and their relationships baffle me. its like straight cis people struggle to even actually feel love, they just date whoever, like they're an army of soulless alien robots.

Many of the things *around* being trans suck balls. But that is because of other people making them suck. Being trans itself? *GOD* being a girl is amazing.

I wish I could feel this way, but not seeing myself whenever I look into the mirror just makes me wish I had been born cis. The community and connection to others going through the same thing has basically been the onky positive, and even then, it feels more like coping to say that.

nobody can ever have time to be happy if they're too busy denying who they are, if they're not allowing themselves to embrace the things they love, the things they're scared of being called cringe about

the things I dislike about my experience are solely influenced by how our current environment affects my ability to live a fulfilled life with respect and dignity, being trans is natural and profound and will exist long after this phase of cultural vitriol!!!

I dont think ill ever be truly happy being trans. Its a state i accept because i can never be who i truly wish to be, so i am stuck in between both worlds (and not really accepted by either) Mixed race and now mixed gender. Lol

Absolutely this. I wouldn’t change being trans for its own sake; it’s a huge part of who I am and I value the experience & perspective it’s given me. I really wish the world would change to make our lives easier.

less than a minute in and they're doing the fuckin "god made adam and eve not adam and steve" bullshit. go fuck yourself. my "god given gender" is trans as fuck and Jesus loves me. stop making him weep.

Every moment of sadness I have experienced because of my being trans has been caused by other people. I have become a happier and better person since living as my authentic self. I love who I am now.

Being trans in a world like this is full of hardship, but it’s also what lets us live life fully. We get to experience things we never thought possible, and despite everything manage to smile by the end of it all. The best present you can gift yourself is the allowance to feel genuine.

Being trans is one of the greatest gifts life gave me. Did it cause me pain and misery for half my life? Yes. It means the sweetness of the closest relationships, freinds, comfort in myself and seeing the beauty in the world is so much stronger. We have truly lived. I make no apologies for it.

I can't imagine how trans people can have different feelings than hating the fact that they are trans. Idea is that they don't want to be their AGAB. They hate that. They wish they were different AGAB. Only trenders who are trans because all the cool kids on the block are trans like being trans.

Dude... hating being trans is completely valid and I'd never shame anyone for it, but being trans isn't a one way street. Everyone has a different experience and while yes we all struggle some people are able to find beauty amongst the struggle, and that doesn't make them any less real.

It can be rejuvenating to put in the effort to become who and what you want to be through shear force of will. Not to mention gender is a spectrum! There is no default hardware that aligns with my gender (I'm all kinds of nonbinary) and being trans allows me to be as ambiguous as I please with it!!

"They hate that. They wish they were different AGAB." This is true but you're focusing on the negative aspect and missing the positive aspect. We also *do want* to be a different gender and transitioning to that gender brings a lot of joy and relief.

"Only trenders who are trans because all the cool kids on the block are trans like being trans." Why do you think this is even a thing?

Not tans. Sorry that some are feeling this way. Makes sense given the hatred spewing forth all over the place. It's hard for us normies (? meant in a boring way - hope not taken wrong way - tell me if bad use) so can't imagine how hard it is for people being persecuted directly. Hugs for everyone.

Sometimes I feel like that Hannibal Buress bit about juice and racism. Because I get caught up in the euphoria of being a woman, that for a minute I live when a world where transphobia doesn't exist. Men staring at me angrily and I'm like "you know you can have estrogen too?", I'm not hogging it.
