after years of bumbling incompetence we were finally starting to see some promising improvements on this stuff and then a reality TV show bigot operating at a third grade reading level exploited America's low education standards and toxic media environment to become king
70% of households with no wireline broadband are urban, not rural. $42B in BEAD funds will do zero to connect them, whether spent on Starlink or fiber. DEA, the FCC hotspot effort and the now-dead Affordable Connectivity Program were designed to help connect urban *and* rural. GOP can't allow that.
I don’t even live in a rural area and fiber becoming available was a huge improvement over the previous options available. Comcast/Xfinity here cuts out intermittently several times a day for no apparent reason and costs twice as much for the same speed.
You forgot comic book villain information controlling :), but yes. I am still put off from flying for maybe a decade while we unwind space x from the FAA after the inevitable years of litigation over "broken contracts" and training/hiring back up to safe levels.
Our elderly, homogeneous rural MI county recently had fiber installed under this program. I'm sure my GOP neighbors enjoying this would be surprised to learn that they are benefitting from unconstitutional racist woke broadband.
