I have to agree with your assessment. I used to love everything Apple, but Tim’s politics and coddling with oligarchs turned my stomach! 🤬🤮🤮

I was fed up with iOS26 killing the battery on my 16P - took a chance and installed the beta of iOS27 last night - even though it's still indexing - battery life looks like it's improved a lot. Of course this is just n=1 but very happy at the moment.

True. But he did his job exceptionally…how many people are addicted to iPhone and Apple Watch beyond rationality? These people obviously don’t care for him being a “profoundly boring, authoritarian-coddling, unremarkable person”. Quite different to Musk, this far right crazy firecracker, isn't he?

His tenure is notable for how it wasn't. Apple Silicon was only a reaction to a terrible deal with Intel. Apple's Metaverse product came to market two years after the Metaverse ended, and they'll likely to do the same with "AI" and pervert glasses. His only idea has ever been poor mimicry.

Yeah. I was old enough to be comfy in Apple's golden cage. Now I'm leaving.

<- this guy just started leaving the golden Apple cage. Not easy but after Tim Cook's stunt I knew I had to. iPhone goes first, to be exchanged for a (much lighter) de-Googled Samsung S26. Apple Watch comes next, and I will use my brand new Macbook Pro M5 without iCloud until it dies.

And as developers who worked with Steve Jobs we all can tell you that everything got worse under Cook who (unlike Jobs) chronically released buggy products. Eventually those bugs became “features” … like the battery drain bug. And much worse ones. So, do let the door hit you on your way out Timmy.

Apple went from an iconic innovator in Steve Jobs that was releasing new products every couple years And followed it up with Cook that didn’t design anything of note and just tried to maintain the status quo.
