Their existential crisis = catch-22. Either they face the bubble bursting and their debts coming due with no income streams to cover them OR they keep on abusing all of us with the pursuit of data centers for ubiquitous state surveillance/AI neoroyal plutocracy and WE decide they shouldn't exist.

Counterpoint: Keeping a lot of these datacenters from coming online is saving them from themselves.

History tends to repeat itself (with one big AI difference): New idea. Huge investment. Many suppliers enter market. Oversupply. Commodity pricing, cost plus or even cost minus. (Demand destruction: Jamie Dimon, JP Morgan CEO, realizes that AI produces unreliable output) Bubble bursts bigly.

Translation: "If line doesn't keep going up, the bubble will pop, and this entire unsustainable edifice we've invested most of the economy into will come crashing down. Somehow, this is your fault, and not ours for feeding the bubble in the first place."

The whole bubble is inflated by CapEx and with a cross-investment shell game on top. For example, NVidia invests billions to be used to buy NVidia GPUs. Like a bank financing an apartment building for a landlord to collect rents on to pay back the bank. But calling it investment to inflate value.
