You also aren’t ready to be a parent who encourages this in children who enjoy playing with cars or dolls. These kids don’t have a clue, just because they think something is cool. Many of these are normal phases. Let these kids grow up & reach puberty to make the best decisions for their lives.

You don’t need to encourage kids to be of the opposite sex at young ages, just because a girl liked to play with cars or a boy plays with dolls. It is just fun for kids. Some parents take it to mean more than it is. My Dtr wore my son’s clothes & she also hated pink. No biggee for a girl. No meaning

Let me add if people were really worried about this issue why don't people put the pressure on social media where a lot of kids are learning about a lot of shit. People blame schools? No sweetie they looking up what hawk tuah is in middle school. Pop culture rules the day with teens.

When my son was a teenager, he had something important to say. I told him not to worry I would love him no matter what. He didn't believe in God. I said: "Don't tell Grandma!"

😂😂 I love that! I’m Kemetic, and I think all beliefs (that aren’t harming others) are beautiful. Everyone is just trying to make sense of the world, my mother would flip though. I always tell her “if my son (he’s 7) someday wants to go to church, I’ll take him.” I have no issue :)🤍

In high school my guidance counselor had a poster that said “parents plant & water a seed, they make sure it is planted in a good space to get light and have room to grow, fertilize it, but they have no control whatsoever over what type of flower eventually grows and blooms there.” Its so true.

I'm not concerned with my kids' sexual orientation. I don't care what their religious beliefs are or their politics. I don't care if they grow up to be doctors or cashiers. I just want them to grow up to be good people that do right by others and treat people the way they'd want treated.

Absolutely true. They grow the way they are meant to. You have very little control. You make them feel supported and loved. You water the plant and it flourishes beautifully but not at all the way you imagined.

Seriously. Confession: I was a "kids are something other people have" person. But I had a kid, and my kid is amazing. I've had ppl ask "what would you do if he said 'Mom I'm a girl, call me Suzie now'?" My reply: "Call her Suzie and ask what she wants for dinner." IT'S NOT FUCKING HARD.

100%. I have four children and the only thing I ever wish for them to be is healthy and happy. One of them is bi and one is disabled. I love them just as much as the day I brought them home from the hospital, not build-a-bear 😂

More & more lately, I can hear my Chem prof (Dr Coleman) in my head saying with the full exasperation of a high school teacher, "This isn't HARD, folks!"

yeah... there's a painful number of people out there who see their kids as customizable property, not individuals with their own identities

I wonder if that ninny (Ashley) realized that in her choice to have a baby w/Elmo. He has a trans daughter already. I feel most sorry for that po child on her roll-the-dice approach to parenting with a dead-beat dad. Imagine how she will be if that baby is “dif” than her expectations. 😒

When I was a newly married man I chose not to have kids as I wasn’t ready to commit to this truth. I finally concluded that I was capable of unconditional love and have 3 wonderful adult children. Like me they all have flaws. Thankfully we are human in that way

You're not ready to be a parent if you're not able to see the child as a person straight out the womb. I think of my kid as a soul entrusted to me by the universe. They don't "belong" to me. I am just the one who was trusted with guiding this soul through this experience called "life".

Alt text: PSA: If you don't want your child to be gay, trans, etc. then just don't have kids. This isn't fucking build a bear. You don't get to pick and choose these things about your child. You aren't ready to be a parent if you aren't ready to love them unconditionally. 🗣️

I agree. I think most parents - regardless of the sexuality of our children - worry about the cruelty of the rest of the world as well. We keep loving, hoping that our love is enough of a shield against the many, many arseholes our children will encounter in their lives.

I'm old enough to remember when the fears of the parents of gay children cried for them simply because they believed their children would never know a committed loving relationship and their lives would be punctuated by beatings and being fired from their jobs

Hating, discriminating somebody because of their sexuality is really weird. Why do people care what others do in their private lives as long as they are consenting adults? It is really messed up to be so focussed on other people’s sex lives.

*Rod Serling voice* "Imagine for a moment, a discovery is made that the petrol chemicals and micro plastics are altering the way children develop. There is no escape, no hope but to accept that's just how things are now, in the twilight American zone.

My grandson is trans. Both my boyfriend and I saw this when he was just 3 yrs old. He just acted male. Wanted to wear Superman underwater. Refused to wear a dress. He is now 19 yrs old. We are both convinced trans are born that way.

Or you all just groomed a little girl to thinking she is a boy just because she didn't like to wear dresses. How does the thought of that not scare you to death?

Have not studied, but about 80% of kids that are not "affirmed" grow out of the discomfort with them selves and live normal, healthy lives. This I have seen happen first hand, several times.

My daughter is 10 and told us that she will never marry a man. My husband told her he completely understands. I told her as long as she gives me grandchildren by the time she’s 45 I don’t care. We’re going to be crazy regardless too 🤭 can’t wait for my daughter in law.
