I understand the instinct to donate to orgs that are helping trans folks flee red states but let's not forget about the orgs that are still fighting for trans folks in red states.

We split our annuals donation between a national doing the legal work and a local that’s doing healthcare access and social support. We planned for small mutual aid throughout the year. There’s so much need.

I work for an org like the ones mentioned by Katelyn in Ohio. I know how hard our external affairs department is fighting in the statehouse here in Columbus and on The Hill in DC. We've gotten some wins. We might get more W's with more resources. It's not hopeless.

like this isn't 2012, there are no national queer rights orgs who are flush with cash. Everyone I speak with is dramatically cutting their budgets. And red state queer orgs are always fighting uphill on a shoestring budget. My challenge to you today is to google a red state queer org and donate.

Don't just look at Kansas, this type of bill will soon sweep through every other red state. We have a chance now to organize everywhere else too.
