jfc I'm listening to yet another pollster describe the reality of polling in this environment and I'm begging everyone to ignore the polls and just go vote.

Really comforting to listen to pollsters tell us that their entire industry used to be based on math but now it's just witchcraft and vibes.

G. Elliott Morris actually knows what he is talking about, and can explain it. But of course everyone should go vote. Anyone using the polls as a reason NOT to vote does not understand polls or polling...which are predicated on expected voting behavior. No one else is gonna do your voting for you.

Pollster: We know nothing. Every method we've used to collect data is in some way significantly compromised, and gambling websites spin that data for profit. We might as well be poking at sheep entrails under the full moon. Interviewer: But the Dems are up, right? Pollster: Oh yeah no doubt.

Yup, I used to do some polling in the UK, which was always easier to poll for Reasons, but there's no way you can effectively poll the US right now Weight by, eg, past vote recall? Virtually no one voted for him Likely voters? Um, yeah, we think he's fans are staying home but... Mess

One wonders if perhaps they're claiming inaccuracy in an effort to avoid drawing the ire of a certain foul-tempered despot. "Oh look, the Dems are ahead but oops, we have no idea if that means anything, ha ha, please don't send us to the gulag!"
