They announced last week that massive restructuring is coming in the next few weeks. That’s corpo speak for layoffs and studio closures.

It is too early for me to curse effectively; therefore, I will express myself in GIF.

I want to say that a studio should try very hard to avoid being acquired by a large publisher, but large publishers seem to be taking pains to make that point.

Yes, world-building and storytelling was great. It’s a visually stunning game. The parkour is fun and well-executed. The combat is terrible.

It was exactly the 1st game in an ip that needed a sequel to rough out the edges. The combat felt like it had potential that could be expanded on. The unique ideas with levels and story was great and the soundtrack?! Phenomenal. We'll never see it now because "line must go up" 🤬

I'm playing South of Midnight on PS5 now. A unique game that should have gotten more support from the publisher. So much to love and so much that could have been built on in the future.
