Link has always been the epitome of gender for me as a nonbinary person and I could really never put a finger down on why. Absolutely love the article, thanks :)

I don't have the exact quote handy but I've definitely seen one from one of the higher up developers or directors saying Link was intentionally designed to be androgynous to make him easier for both genders to relate to.

I wish that Nintendo did in fact make Link into a woman. Namely, a blockbuster video game series where a boyish girl elf embarks on a dangerous solo adventure to save her princess would have set gender views in America ahead by two or three decades.

I started Breath of the Wild to practice seeing out of my helmet. Now I'm also playing Tears of the Kingdom. Bought a switch just for that. I don't normally play video games but this? Yea a lot.

I worry about the NPC's so much! And I stopped shooting the fairy creatures. Oh! I sat in Nembi's wagon and just let it run and travelled with him, just touched the controller to keep it from timing out and sleeping. Then he gave me stuff!

That was a really nice read and has me thinking about link fashiom again, thank you for writing it and for bringing it back. 💚
