A dark blizzard of disinformation is warping the public’s perception of our great city. But we know the truth: our homicide rate is lower than every major US city, neighbourhood crimes are down and we’ve been ranked #1 city in the world 11 years in a row. My piece for The Times.

They've been trying this stuff on for so long now. I remember the Washington Post saying you can't find a drink when you emerge from Whitechapel tube station, because of Muslims. Turn right, and right again, sir - should come naturally - Brick Lane is one of the drunkest streets on Earth.

Great Mayor that you are , your never going to change the mind set of the RW / Racists who are a stain on our collective society including the effluent stirrers in the HOC/USA Admin , keep up the good work and fuck the haters .

I wish he'd taken on social housing and made London more habitable for us ordinary folks. London hasn't had a decent attempt at that since Livingstone and Coin Street.

Surely not something that can be achieved quickly. Esp in London!! It’s overcrowded as it is and very little space to build. So I understand it But the ULEZ has meant everyone has gained health wise. Without health you have nothing so a huge achievement despite all the right wing opposition

I once said- Go to London, I guarantee you'll either be mugged or not appreciated. Catch the train to London, stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central, and Shattered Dreams Parkway.. In fairness I visited recently & apart from the beggars on Oxford Street I was left alone.

Honestly, I don't know what he's on about. What misinformation? I can tell London is safer because I live here and because the figures are clear. As is the ULEZ benefits. No idea where the lies are published, I don't need right wing male opinions on things (newspapers and TV news).

A dark blizzard of disinformation is warping our whole lives at the moment. Thank you for your strength and leadership 🙏

We must fight back against troll army lies - period. For London, but also for all other people and causes that are constantly being suffocated by this evil. There is urgent need for regulation of social media platforms. And you're doing a great job, Mr Mayor!

The regulatory rules applied to the press and publishers must now be extended to cover all social media. Plus new laws for disinformation. We live in a new age, current regulatory framework is not fit for purpose. Also is legal action a possibility?

Because it's The Times. If you want news these days (from the excellent to the crap), you invariably have to pay for it. I'd recommend the FT

Safe, unless you happen to be a senior or anyone else who believes that the genocide in Palestine is wrong. Peaceful protesters dragged off and thrown into jail… Never going back. #LondonSupportsGenocide

That could be because all Jews are painted with the same brush as the genocidal Zionists in Israel. It’s sad & unfortunate for all the perfectly sane, rational Jews amongst us, but until Bibi is brought before the international courts that is unlikely to change.

Broadcast the status of your city on all social platforms to get the message out. Never count on mainstream media to broadcast your news. That was Starmer biggest mistake relying on mainstream media. The oligarchs that owned the media wants division.

Written for that dark blizzard of disinformation that is now The Times, which printed a story about women being treated courteously by the ballyclots on a train without mentioning women were also members of a SE racist group?

Comparing London to high-crime US cities sets an absurdly low bar. On top of lecturing the public about "disinformation," Mayor Khan hides his defense behind a paywall in The Times. PR slogans won't rewrite the daily safety reality Londoners face on the streets.

Objective data over the last two years shows knife crime and stabbings continuing their alarming rise, alongside epidemic street robberies. Calling genuine safety concerns a "blizzard of disinformation" ignores the documented rise in violent incidents across the capital.

Using lockdown as a baseline is absurd - crime dropped everywhere when people were forced indoors. Pointing to a minor 1-year dip after a massive post-COVID surge doesn't mean the city is safe; it means knife offenses remain plateaued near historic highs.

Source citation for "alarming rise" of stabbings, please (being found with a knife or any sharp object is counted as a "knife crime", and varies strongly with policing patterns and classifications, so I don't care about those).

ONS and Met Police data explicitly separate simple possession from knife-enabled violence with injury. Official ONS figures show London knife crime involving violence and stabbings jumped significantly over the past two years - not just stop-and-search numbers.

Your statement is not correct about knife crime; it's clearly a significant problem which fluctuates rather than increases as this chart demonstrates. It dropped significantly during Covid.

Your own chart proves my point. Between 2022/23 and 2024/25, knife offences surged from 12.79k to 16.34k - a 27% spike over two years reaching a decade high. Pointing out that crime spiked to record levels before slightly dipping in 2025/26 isn't the flex you think it is.

Since October 2023, antisemitic attacks and threats against Jewish Londoners have spiked to record levels. CST and police data show Jewish neighborhoods facing harassment, proving that "ranked #1 city" claims ring hollow for residents living in fear.

During post-10/2023 marches, radical crowds shouted violent chants against Jews while police stood in passive defensiveness. Hiding arguments behind a paywall doesn't obscure the objective 2-year trend: rising knife crime, mob intimidation, and two-tier policing.

Sources are public and easy to verify: - ONS (Office for National Statistics) Crime in England & Wales releases - Metropolitan Police recorded crime data - NHS Digital hospital admissions for sharp object assaults - House of Commons Library Knife Crime Briefings

There are some cities in the world that just have “it”. Some are really beautiful, but are all frosting and no cake. London has it all. It’s one of my favourite cities (along with Istanbul, Rome, Amsterdam and New Orleans)

Tories are panicking, the institutionally corrupt are panicking, hence they try to constantly defame and remove you. I've often been told that if it wasn't for corruption in government, the courts, politics, local authorities, NHS, utilities the UK would collapse That's what I was told

Sorry Sadiq, I love London but I cancelled my 6wk 🇬🇧 tour as I was a bit concerned about the nazis on English streets. It's not the London and Portsmouth I have visited and thoroughly enjoyed for the past 9yrs so I'll wait until things calm down a bit and go to Spain instead.

"A dark blizzard of disinformation is warping the public’s perception of" everything. I Googled "Police" brand sunglasses. The first two responses weren't that brand. They used to be trustworthy. Everything is monetised and politicised and biased crap.
