Not really. We're getting 85% of our electricity from renewables at this moment and Texas is at about 70%. We're adding batteries and figuring out the technology. California has real problems, but a lack of solar/renewables is not currently top of the list even in electricity.

i agree that CA could do more but fwiw the main driver of this is that Texas uses over twice as much electricity as California does by either total or per capita measures since it has a bunch of electricity-intensive industry and CA doesn't
