Anthropic should really put on a "Anthropic Summer of Code", where open source contributors pitch their projects, and anthropic donates some ungodly amount of usage toward it (expiring at the end of the summer.)

also they should make it possible to donate some amount of your purchased usage (be it from a max/team account, or api access, etc.) to another user. remove patreon/ko-fi etc + "buy extra usage" from the flow there.

caught Cregger's Resident Evil last night. pretty spectacular. * cinematography sometimes mirrors AAA game camera work. e.g. protagonist walks down hallway, camera over shoulder. he pushes open a door, and camera moves past to pan around. * unrelenting, with brief moments of quiet/levity/sadness

This is a really good explainer about the mortality estimates around USAID. One big point is that dismantling USAID also dismantled one of the main sources of mortality data in some of these regions. Early indicators of mortality are very worrying.

"startup life, yo" + adhd making things harder these days, but jfc why do I have to manually refill/re-auth anything diabetes-related at this point? If I'm not changing employment, insurance, or doctor, why isn't everything automatically refilled/shipped until/unless I turn it off? just bill me.

Hello friends near and far 💜 I've reached the end of my savings, frustratingly, just as we've solved the root mystery of my illness (it's Lyme) and are seeing continued success with treatment. I'm asking for your help in bridging the gap between now and when I can hopefully work full-time again.

You can order pills from overseas clinics and mutual aid groups. *Possessing* mifepristone is not a crime (except in Louisiana). I'm not saying I have some but I am saying if you are someone who can get pregnant or knows people who can, order some now. www.plancpills.org

Mother Jones@motherjones.com

Abortion pill manufacturers have asked the Supreme Court to reinstate an FDA rule allowing mifepristone to be prescribed by telemedicine and sent through the mail. The case could drastically disrupt access to abortion pills across the US.

patiently waiting for a 100% US manufacturer of _checks notes_ a 50-to-34-pin 8" floppy adapter (card edge). I'm sure that cottage industry is getting spun up any day now.

I've seen a few people converging on this workflow, so figured it's time to make a bit more noise about my tool. github.com/domainos-arc... is a command line utility for ghidra, coupled with an http plugin running in ghidra itself, exposing most useful functionality from ghidra to agents.

And to be clear, generating compatible (other than the inevitable assembly pieces, large parts of the kernel -- maybe the rest of it -- was written in pascal) source isn't even the primary goal. I want to revive this OS and get it running on modern hardware. If I can use an agent to help? hell yeah.

Netanyahu has spent the better part of two decades trying to strong arm the United States into an unprovoked war against Iran and finally found a president stupid enough to do it for him. Unbelievable.

Amazing to me that Panama played a part in this. Shameful and sad.

UPDATE: Nearly 100 migrants, recently deported by the United States to Panama where they had been locked in a hotel, were loaded onto buses Tuesday night and moved to a detention camp on the outskirts of the jungle, several of the migrants said. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/w...

Back in August I was in pain 24/7 and sleeping on a camping pad on the floor. Today I did 45 minutes pain free on the trainer for the first time since. Recovery sucks, but injury sucks more.

back on my domain/os bullshit, and I'm finally getting round to figuring out something that's bugged me for a while. There are some functions in the kernel that both don't allocate a frame _and_ reference stack slots from the frame pointer in the caller. as an example:

that `unaff_A6 + 0xc` is the slot in the parent frame for status_ret. I know pascal was used for at least _some_ portion of the kernel, and my hypothesis is that flp_$error_chk is an nested function.

Follows all the rules - isn't a closures. Only usable in the parent's frame. The kernel code isn't really optimized so eliding the frame pointer + argument here is very weird. Don't suppose my tiny bsky reach has any domain/os or low-level pascal people that can say for sure?

Working backward from a pretty clear “this is the experience I want” to “this is the code/infra I think I need to make it real” can be a _real_ slog. Especially once rough edges due to innocuous implementation choices begin to manifest. “Who made it this way?” It’s me. I’m the problem.
