Meta has spent over $100 billion on VR. aftermath.site/meta-horizons-...

Part of what breaks my tech-nerd's heard here is that all of the actually potentially groundbreaking stuff that Meta might have tripped over on their way to this point is all hidden behind NDAs and corporate barriers. If this had been spend on the public side, it'd be accessible to new teams.

And whatever actually good work had been done might be found and built on. Instead, Meta probably has some really good stuff hidden in its vaults, but neither it nor we will ever know because nobody with real passion and curiosity is going to find it there.

Google too, they gobble up all these companies but often don't know what to do with them, like dragons hoarding gold.
