I wonder how much it would cost to make all public transport free.

It would pay for itself

The increased usage and the drop in traffic would make health better therefore reducing costs to our health system. Apply the same logic to ebikes and increased bicycle lanes. However it would mean people wouldn't be buying cars and we can't be having that.

Theyd also save the millions they spend on the ticketing IT systems, leap cards, ticket barriers, enforcement, etc

Works out at about €1 per day per person in Dublin County.
