While I don’t ride or die for Pete Buttigieg, the vitriol directed at him is completely insane. “When I was younger I wished that I could have taken a pill to turn me straight; but I have accepted and embraced my identity now” is an *extremely* common sentiment from Millennial and older gay people!

I can't stand Pete and I think he is soulless, fake and compromised... but this attack on him sucks so bad. This anecdote shared by him is heartbreaking and strikes me as incredibly honest

I would argue that depends on how much you consider NASA Administrator or National Security Advisor political figures as I think there is an argument they shielded and enabled Elmo even more. On DOT side Elon was already riding a decade of bureaucratic inertia before Pete stepped into the hot seat
