If you are a San Francisco voter who actually wants to implement left-progressive policy, Scott Wiener is your candidate.

Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes. @scottwiener.bsky.social is THE progressive in the race to succeed Nancy Pelosi in Congress. He believes in progress. Connie Chan does not. sfstandard.com/opinion/2026...

I think there is a barely hidden subtext of people disliking Wiener because he is Jewish and they invent weird stories about him. Someone argued Wiener was against M4Awhen the first words on his healthcare page are “we need M4A.” They then grumbled b/c he admitted it will be a process

I saw someone the other day remark that San Francisco is the only city in the country where the left is reactionary and the center is progressive.

Nope. He’s in the pocket of tech and real estate and has been for ever. And I’ve lived in districts he represented for the past 12+ years. #voteconniechan

i'll take the candidate "in the pocket of real estate" over the candidate of mary fong lau and the people who think she did nothing wrong when she plowed her car into a family at a bus stop at 70mph every day and sunday

Where are they building 5M homes in SF? All new construction I've seen is condos which are cheaper than any SFH

Let's assume Scott is "in the pocket of real estate" (developers). The counterpoint of Connie is blocking growth and enriching homeowners, and so being "in the pocket of real estate" (homeowners). I would much rather have people building housing profit than enrich rentier homeowners.

this is fundamental mistake of SF "progs." They condemn developers without ever considering who that enriches and harms. It enriches their political base (rich homeowners) and harms renters (who they pretend to care about).

I’m a SF renter of over 25 years who lived in his previous district. I’m also queer, and he doesn’t speak for that side of me either.
