The U.S. hasn’t had Greenland before. There are already agreements to have U.S. military in Greenland. Maybe Trump wants Greenland so he can strip mine the rare minerals for money. Maybe this is all about Trump and money (like Venezuela oil) and not security.

Fun Fact on Greenland: NATO countries collectively hold 2 trillion US dollars as part of their currency reserves. If the United States seized Greenland illegally they wouldn't even need to fire one shot. They could shut down the US just by dumping even HALF of those reserves. Economic collapse.

His obligation, as a NATO signatory, is to defend Greenland and Denmark if Russia were ever to attack, which they wouldn’t. Ukraine has weakened the Russian military greatly. Their military footprint is already much larger than they have the resources to support.

Feels like military action in Iran is inevitable. If I’m NATO, I don’t share Intel, I don’t send troops there, and I certainly don’t help them bomb them. They need to save their resources for America when Trump invades Greenland.
