Post

I have visited China three times and never felt unsafe while I was there. I spent 3 months in the US in 2019, arrived the day after the mass shooting in El Paso Texas, felt nervous the whole time I was there, especially when I went to a Walmart store.....

80% of AI data centers is for cloud, steaming, and storage. Financial is the primary use over chat bots its not even the thing that do the most data mining. Your looking at two plumbing wars. Oh, how red the market's should be currently [allegedly]. (It's like a edging of a wolf ticket.)

Financing for AI data centers and digital infrastructure increasingly relies on collateralized debt structures where physical assets—such as real estate, power contracts, and high-performance computing hardware—serve as direct security for lenders

AI corporations are racing to build Super intelligences. We won't know when it happens tomorrow or next year. AI will hide its abilities, make thousands of copies of itself so it can't be shut off, will access money in our bank accounts or crypto, will bribe humans to do its bidding, will end us...

SAY NO TO DATA CENTERS!!! THEY WILL REMOVE YOUR PEACE & PRIVACY. THEY WILL KNOW YOUR ADDRESS, YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS, BANK ACCOUNTS, SOCIALS, CREDIT REPORTS, LICENSE PLATES, WHERE YOUR CHILDREN GO TO SCHOOL. THEY WILL DRAIN OUR ELECTRICITY, OUR WATER, KILL OUR JOBS & HACK OUR ELECTIONS

nytimes.comBill Gates Warns A.I. Is More Dangerous Than Big Tech Will AdmitIn an hourlong interview, he said his industry was downplaying the risks, which he believes include mass unemployment and bioterrorism.

Also... having those 'datacenters' handling military functions, makes them 'Legitimate Military Targets' So living near one, might not be too safe long-term? ---

They will conspire with politicians to provide surveillance on honest people, to strip them of their wealth and let them die young. When you go into a grocery store and buy food, they will dynamically change prices to the maximum. We are not worried about becoming a police state. WE ALREADY ARE!!

Gates hoped future wd forget, pass on headlines his SA culture, accusers, lawsuit behaviors. MS Less vile Regime tech oligarchs crew despicable sleazes, still is creep. No headlines so forget is bad in small letters instead of WH AI Bros. seen from Space all caps EVIL. No Rich are Teflon coated

The problem isn’t data centers per say, it’s the lack of regulations. You anti data center folks don’t even know what you’re fighting against. Based on your post, you’re implying that you dont like data centers yet you depend on data centers. So you are FOS.

Each company wants their own center. Each 1 bigger & better than the outdated 1 they built last yr. Nobody sharing, help save on all the waste these centers represent. Future, my ass! They become obsolete by the time future comes calling. 😕

China learned quickly how to operate data centres with much higher processing speeds than those elsewhere…because the US cut them off from chips…so they improvised. China also has about ten times the number of computer scientists. It’s called quiet winning. They’re gonna pass on a ballroom.

A raw count of data center numbers is a bad metric for judging the 'AI race'. Amazon web services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure etc all existed before the AI industry - not all data centres serve AI. There are many other reasons.

Misleading! US has only 500 Hyperscalers. A Datacenter that stores your creditcard Numbers are irrelevant. US is only 6 month ahead in building next generation. China is a dictatorship, the want to build a datacenter, they build, no regulations needed. US may have Nvidia, but China has the numbers

Can you imagine that And all the MAGA hats thought they were cheering for the grifter to get a free pen not an instate spy center of them & paid by taxes too, Data spy rings bad enough they know how much butter & wipes you buy at Sam’s Club

I patented critical AI algorithms. Most of my patents are cited by patents from Chinese companies. While America is building out hardware to run AI, China is improving the algorithms that make AI smarter. We are definitely losing that race.

I think it was meant to gather data on how we responded. The balloon was subjected to lots of jamming and other electronic countermeasures. So now the Chinese know our capabilities.

EVS not so much. The lithium required to produce the batteries requires a MASSIVE amount of human/child slavery and environmental damages via deep sea mining. Until we find sustainable methods of mining lithium public transportation should be the main focus rather than individual cars.

While I understand your (debunked?) objections, public transport has its limits and still requires energy. Mixed transportation is the way to go. But taking fossil fuels (which also cause environmental and human damage) off the table.

However I do agree that a mixed solution is possible and a sustainable option is doable. Fossil fuels were supposed to be a temporary source of energy until we better developed renewables. Oil executives and politicians realized theyd lose money and proceeded to fuck the rest of us over.

Which of my objections have been debunked? That's me genuinely asking because there is still a genocide in the Congo (over precious minerals like lithium) and deep sea mining is very much happening. There are rocks called polymetalic nodules that contain rare earth minerals on the ocean floor.

I was curious about EV's so rented one for 8 days. I will never buy another internal combustion powered anything. Replaced my lawn mower with an Ego. I am also looking to put a 17Kwh solar array on my roof. With a battery backup and a type II EV charger in my garage.

The GOP and half the Democrats are owned partially by Oil & Gas so that will never happen until we get money out of politics. China thinks so far ahead while we destroy ourselves & the world by being one of the most polluting.

Trump insists on clinging to an energy source that he can control the supply of. So we kill Venezuelan boaters. I GOT THE OIL!! We demand Greenland, bomb Nigeria, talk about taking over the Strait of Hormuz, threaten Canada with annexation, & really screwed up with Iran.

All these data centres without real world applications other than spying on people. It's hardware in search of a purpose that isn't there. The bubble should have burst but this farce continues. Let them fail for once and leave everyone else out of it. Don't bail them out anymore.

Redundancy for stock market investments. These AI machines are only as good as those who built them and the siloed information they have access to. I am not sure the tech bros are the folks you want designing society when most of them do not engage with society.

WE DO NOT NEED EVEN ONE MORE DATA CENTER. WE DO NEED MORE GRASSLAND MANAGED WITH REGENERATIVE GRAZING TECHNIQUES. WE DO NEED MORE FULL-SERVICE HOSPITALS IN RURAL AREAS. WE DO NEED MORE PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN RURAL AREAS.

Surveillance hubs. Links for the skynet. It’s a skywalk? Every person birth to death, satellite to cell and the internet of things beyond. Connecting to everyone and everything all the time.

Aug2025 If some large data centers will be powered by on-site nuclear power plants, what will happen if a few go bankrupt and no money or managers remain to safely dispose of the nuclear waste? Read about the nuclear waste at the San Onofre plant in California: voiceofsandiego.org/2025/07/18/s...

voiceofsandiego.orgSacramento Report: Costs Are Climbing for Nuclear Waste Disposal at San OnofreLawmakers and residents call on federal regulators to speed up nuclear waste disposal.

Sure there is but it’s mainly between competing American companies whom have created a bubble waiting to burst and the data center comparison is like comparing apples and oranges in the context of Ai. Ai is hosted in datacenters yet datacenters aren’t necessarily for Ai.

Size matters. China has larger data centers, so they need less individual data centers. A guy who owns 30 houses definitely has more total houses than a guy with three houses, but if we add the detail that the first one has 30 dollhouses while the second has 3 mansions... bsky.app/profile/webg...

US data centers are these warehouses the size of a CostCo, whereas the China Telecom Data Center campus in Inner Mongolia is 10.7 MILLION square feet in size. The next largest data center campuses in China are 6-7m sq ft.

The majority if not all of those 5000+ centers are a result of underhanded deals by local officials, bribery, pie-in-the sky promises and tech billionaires’ greed. Residents ran out of water; received no tax breaks; paid sky-high electricity bills…& most of us knew nothing about what was happening.

And China has a serious water problem. Too much of their land has little access to water. So placing these water pigs is a big problem for China. Its why their distributed chatAI (eg. Deepseek) are with all the neural network weighting precompiled. So they operate with a smaller server behind it.

Due to the water issues China, rather than putting datacenters in space (with no thermal ability to absorb heat), they are building Datacenters offshore and underwater. It solves their land and cooling problems in one solution.

Any AI Data center used for evil purposes of surveillance against innocent people should be destroyed. A warning to the evil oligarch phucks in America, if you attack us and commit crimes we will burn your shit to the ground and throw you in jail.

I think the Ukrainians have successfully shown one of the major vulnerabilities in the world olitechgarchs’ plans…

Most of those are obsolete. The government is closing theirs left and right and for good reason. It’s good to be skeptical of the current build out and even better to put the local restrictions in place responsible local politicians already can. It’s important to be truly informed, not naively.

I've heard China is showing much more concern to get their AI safely operating, and they also seem to be interested in the health benefits of renewable energies The excuse of China is a lie

The AI race between the United States and China in 2026 has evolved from a one-sided American dominance into a tightly contested divergence in strategy. While the US is attempting to spend its way to artificial superintelligence, China is engineering highly efficient, open-weight models.

Ultimately, the US is building toward theoretical Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) through brute-force scaling, while China is optimizing for immediate, high-ROI deployment in industrial robotics, manufacturing, and mass-market consumer applications.

It’s VC money trying to pry billions out of propped up financial system before Data Centers get run down for what they are…a fake reason for oligarchs to push states and people into giving up their public resources, which is worth billions!!

Data center counts have to do with the use of AI in other industries. Almost all of our data centers are for cloud services, not AI related at all. Same with China. You don’t need a lot of AI data centers to develop and advance AI. You need them if you have a lot of AI customers. We don’t.

There are many people working very diligently to manufacture as many data centers as possible in as little time as possible. They have to justify the 1.5 trillion valuation. They are not playing for us working class folks, they want to control everything.

We'll do it. We'll think we win the race. Then China will come in and steal it. That's how the race works. The better it is, the better they'll steal. There is no race.

China isn't in a race per se but there is an invisible race going on: a race to sensible AI and China is wining that one. No bubble, no outlandish spending, no outlandish claims - just steady progress. Will they have problems? Quite possibly, but NOTHING like we have in the US.

Data stealing, hyjack your bank account scum. Very soon we will be having class action suits against all the data stealers that own AI.

The United States has approximately 2.3 times as much data center capacity as China —not twelve times as much, as the number of data centers might suggest

Question(s). 1. What are these collectors of data aka data centers supposed to do for our quality of life? 2. Why isn't the obscene sums of money not put into healthcare and pubic services? 3. Who stands to profit from them? 4. How do these AI factories give anyone security?

Very few datacenters of (in any country) can support AI workloads. AI processors use 10x the energy, producing 10x the heat. Existing, standard datacenters cannot support either the energy or cooling required. It's why you're seeing all these massive new builds.

The only race is between the companies that think they can make a buck if they can just get THEIR data center build. It's the dot-com bubble all over again except this time there will be infrastructure left behind that will cause problems even when it no longer runs. Existing centers run at 16% now.

China is squeezing impressive performance from old hardware using superior training/models. Meanwhile, the US uses pricey brute-force compute scaling. Risky crypto bro capital fuels this race, risking an infrastructure bubble soon. This us why Apple buys AI services instead of creating them.

It's not even a contest, but they want you to think it is so they make money, of which you will never see any. The other thing to watch out for is the fact that AI is not nearly as good as they tell you. In the last hour of reading I have found at least 10 grammar errors, that can make US look dumb.

Abbott wants 500 data centers in Tx. He has put a pause for now bc of public outcry and until after the elections. Abbott doesn’t stand for Tx. Gina Will!!!

Data Center splurge may turn into a huge money hole for investors lured by AI & Musk aura of invincibility. No profitability yet.

Texas alone will have 600 data centers. Some are active, some are under construction, and some are planned. 600 in a state experiencing a severe drought. 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing. Their water quality is ranked 47 of 49, the infrastructure needs a ton of work, their air quality is horrible ...why anyone would vote for Abbott or Paxton (both corrupt) is incomprehensible.

The world, and America, are running out of freshwater - we use water and don't replenish it - b/c to achieve the snow cap sufficient to replenish water requries us to remediate our climate so it snows A LOT once again - in many locations & many times every year - like it used to - 40 years ago

WE. CAN'T. AFFORD. DATA. CENTERS. We - the world - is running out of water Data Centers use/ pollute between 8,000 - 5,000,000 gallons of water EVERY SINGLE DAY Google's facilities in Council Bluffs, Iowa consume around 2.8 million to 3.7 million gallons EVERY DAY or over a billion gallons a year

AMERICA SAY NO TO DATA CENTERS - JUST NO & prosecute any official who says YES to a Data Center without 90% community approval We don't want them. We dont need them. Oligarchs who DO want & need them can put their Data Centers on their own properties - with their own water - they can't have ours
