Mel Blanc screams are like Greek fire, we lost the technology to make sounds like this

we just need a poorly insulated sound room with a boom mic with no post sound editing and I swear it can be replicated

There's gotta be some way to make sure the mics don't peak

Some years ago somebody, Shure I think, had a whitepaper out about locating multiple mics in high dynamic range environments with a calculation to run given the anticipated frequency ranges, to use harmonics and cancellation to get good results without having to adjust attenuation.
