Most adults seem to also have difficulty finding credible information. Of course, its the adults who spread almost all of the misinformation. Which, when I was 14, was called lies.

Oh my goodness! Mr. Mentzer is an exceptional human being. A credit to his parents and family. I only wish I knew him to shake his hand and say thank you.

It’s really a shame that Christofascist Republicans are going to destroy the life of this admirable youth— but that’s the kind of shithole country we’ve become. 😞🚩🚩🚩

Yep… surely not long before he becomes a target of Trump’s new DNI pick Bill Pulte. At the *very least* his intelligence/courage is perfect fodder for pathetic Trump arsekissing cucks like Fox’s big, tuff Jesse Watters & Greg Gutfeld.

I don't recall having any difficulty evaluating information when I was 14, though I was distracted somewhat by motorcycles, rock and roll and girls, and that whole intoxication of being young and alive. If Mad magazine had been labelled "Fox News" I think I would have discerned the problem.

God that makes me feel better. It's honestly a shame that the most honest news I get is from Bluesky, Imgur, and comedians on late night. The 'news' channels are dying in the sense of journalism. They are most all propaganda at this point for ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, La Times, WaPo. Even NYT is off.

They were dying a while ago. We just couldn't see it as clear. When they were rarely critical of Trump his first term, that should have been our first sign. Our second is the way they treat the most vulnerable and those who champion them. Journalism bowed to vanity and greed around the world.
