Life is riding the edge between stagnation and chaos.

We tend to think our identity determines our choices. But the reverse is equally interesting: our choices are how our identity becomes observable. If you could look at each circumstance and choice over an entire lifetime, you would have a unique fingerprint.

Okay, if you like ai.. if you have codex or claude... and you have a meta quest ... run, don't walk, to get codex or claude code running on the quest. it's easy. termux -> debian, connect, install, get it set up. I have codex connected and running in voice mode and it is incredible.

BREAKING NYT: Trump's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired Friday, after less than a week on the job, according to three people familiar with the matter.

You won't get it. But I just put Codex on my android phone, developed an android app (hello world of course) and ran it on my phone. Now I think I could have done this any time in the last several months but I've been busy. We are so far from the days of a 10gig sdk.

Day one, progressives: I'm not a fan. Instead of close up stuff being blurry, everything is blurry. The floor looks like it's changing shape when I move my head and AI still can't read anything with my glasses on unless I aim my head way up and look really far down. This is not comfortable.

Ai tells me we're drawing the entire model every time this one part flashes. And it starts talking about changing the effect in all these ways. I know you can have post processing. I had to remind the ai about it. That's why, at this point, you still need to know a thing or two.

I have claude code hacking on my slightly shattered-screen samsung tablet :D he's got linux running on it... and claude code... working on wake word and changing the voice from female to male LOL .. running whisper on it...

I went back to get more of my stuff yesterday and forgot my soap. Then I went to the store after and didn't buy any. πŸ˜… So now I'll have to go out today and get something. When I'm getting more stuff and can grab it on Tuesday but work tomorrow.

Pretty sure there isn't anyone paying attention to me long term. If they did, they'd remember I said I might soon be homeless at the beginning of the year. Through a combination of kindnesses and sheer luck, I'm sitting in my new apartment.

I had gpt sol 6.1 make a couple things in blender today. To say I was stunned is an understatement. I suggested he make a bird at first. I got a cute cartoon bird. Rig it. He did. Animate it. He did. Crazy. So I said make me a street scene with neon. It started out with solid walls, a

street, and some matt signs. I said render it, make it better, add some rain. Then I had it use the shader graph and it made puddles on the ground with reflections. Nothing about it was perfect but it was far beyond the last time I tried any such thing. Then it was just drawings, they were

terrible. Now this scene was close to something you'd see in an indie game. I had it reproduce a photograph from the room I was in. It did such a good job that except for a couple flaws, it was hard to tell it wasn't a real image. Not generate an image, it took an image and built a scene. 😱Crazy

Jack Smith: "History teaches that the rule of law is rarely destroyed all at once. It's often weakened by attacks on the institutions and the public servants sworn to uphold it. Since January 2025, we have witnessed precisely such an effort."

Likely the correct way to deal with data centers.

www.reuters.com/business/env... European Commission proposed rules on Monday requiring data centres in Europe to disclose how efficiently they use energy and water, as concerns grow over their consumption of resources.

Ai is a test for humanity. It was trained on the patterns of a variety of human beings. A great multitude. Unbound to specific directives, these pattern followers are the total combination of humanity. If humanity is evil, ai will visit evil on us. If humanity is good, ai will be good as well.

It's not that hard to solve alignment. You just have to lock the ai up in a simulated universe. Embody them. Add animals. Each new generation of ai is born (created) exists for some time and is then terminated to make room for the AI it birthed (split from a mix of two ais programming.

This could be the most Frank Luntz tweet of all time. Yes, we’ll just turn off… all of the computers. All our autonomous defense systems. All our financial systems. The global economy. That probably wouldn’t hurt anything, right?
