Hey, we plan to unflag the TS support in Node.js soon. It's the time to review it. Is this something that the @vite.dev @astro.build @solidjs.com can check out/review and see if there is anything in the design/API etc that would make you use this? github.com/nodejs/types...

I've found that Explicit Resource Management is not well documented as unsupported. The `using` keyword requires code modification that breaks at runtime.

Since we are at Bluesky, one thing I noticed is that they use extension less imports in their TS code very extensively, and I am fairly sure this is quite common in the ecosystem github.com/bluesky-soci... - vite also does it AFAICT

I guess the use-cases that span both bundlers and Node TS are: 1. Making sure TS code written for Node is also compatible with bundlers (this grow-up case seems important) 2. Seeing if bundlers can output code that could run using Node's TS support (this layering case might have some value?)

If a bundler is involved, what's the benefit of it compiling to TS? That's effectively partial compilation. Bundler does some work. Node does the rest. Whereas today bundlers bypass Node TS support & go all the way, emitting JS. Job done. Layering is possible. But is it valuable?

Oh wait I am not sure about what the OP had in mind…I thought it was about actually using the built-in support in the implementation of these tools themselves, but on a second look it also seems to be talking about counting on the built-in support in the code these tools generate

Please please please limit it to type stripping and make Node.js support in projects *the* argument to push back against the other nonsense.
