iPhone Duo is roughly an A7 sheet of paper that unfolds into an A6 sheet of paper. The genius of the 1:√2 aspect ratio.

Did you know - you can use @mu.social with your existing Bluesky account, no need to move to Eurosky. All your posts, feeds and accounts will be there. But you’ll be able to edit your posts and have a companion cat, or dog (or fox).

What I wish for the new Apple TV to be announced next week: That they in addition to bringing a Thread border router also allows sharing of an Ethernet connection over WiFi – essentially re-becoming the long lost AirPort routers and as such becoming self-sufficient in driving HomePod Mini:s etc

yay! they added a share feature with a fancy image and all! This would have been useful last week! No excuse not to blog your choices then 😁 if you do, share them and I will add your blog post to the list and you'll be in excellent company! ohhelloana.blog/my-interop-2...

We've loved seeing folks post their rankings, so we've added a share button! You can either share your list via the site directly, or copy your list as markdown/html for your own blog. interop-rank.fxdx.dev

Best course there is from the most dedicated and awesome creator 👏

I made some minor design & content structure tweaks to the Practical Accessibility website (ahead of its 3rd anniversary). practical-accessibility.today One of the changes I made was creating a dedicated page for the many reviews & testimonials that the course has received over the past 3+ years.

Great to see more public datasets out there. CrUX is great, and obviously has extra sway given the Google name behind it, but it’s Chrome-only. So RUM Archive fills that gap and lets us see how other browsers compare.

So happy to share mine & @nicj.net's first @cloudflare.social blog post—during our 16th Birthday Week no less! 🥳 Today we announce BEACON, a #webperf research dataset we're contributing to the @rumarchive.com community. blog.cloudflare.com/how-fast-is-...

Welcome to the new PLC Organization @plcred.org “a small Swiss Association (‘Verein’) which provides open network identifier infrastructure. It serves as a neutral steward for the Public Ledger of Credentials (PLC) system” plcred.org

Hello World from the PLC organization (plcred.org)! The org was soft-announced back in March at AtmosphereConf. We've been working through logistics step by step and now have a public web presence we can point to.

I miss the days when editor updates was targeted at developers rather than AI agents. Sure, agentic AI and such can be amazing, but the _editor_ is primarily the domain of a human developer in my world. When I want to be agentic I use pi.dev or some other dedicated agentic harness.

pi.devPi Coding AgentA terminal-based coding agent

🚀 The latest VS Code release makes large agent session lists faster and easier to manage and lets you run agent sessions in Dev Containers, both locally and on remote hosts. 🧵 Here’s what’s new: aka.ms/VSCode/139

Eyewitness Encyclopedia of Space and the Universe (1996). Apps had so much character in the 90s. If this screen were created today, it would just display the planet's names as a list.

Today Igalia turns 25. Ten engineers started it in A Coruña in 2001 with no investors and no managers. There are now close to 200 of us, and everything we build still goes upstream. igalia.com/2026/09/21/T...

Wonderful that the far right seems to be the biggest losers in the Swedish national election – so far they have grown each year, now they are estimated to lose 3.3% and only become the third largest one (They did lose votes in the latest election as well though, which was to the EU parliament)

The iPhone Mini is long gone – but: The iPhone Duo is 13.7mm shorter than the Mini is and even just 2.6mm taller than an iPhone 4 and 2.3mm than an iPhone 3G. It’s 1mm thinner than an iPhone 3G, 2mm thicker than an iPhone 4, 3.65mm thicker than a iPhone 13 Mini. So it’s a new Mini kind of?

It’s funny how the iPhone Duo gets compared to the Samsung Fold 8 – no foldable have used the form factor of the iPhone Duo / Fold 8 since: The Surface Duo in 2019/2021 The Surface Duo was always the more appealing form factor to me – Apple took the best of it and the foldable screens.

I also unrelatedly hope that this phone-iPad Mini cause iPadOS to re-merge into iOS. iOS launched as iPhone OS, then got renamed to iOS shortly after the iPad launched, then ~9 years later they rebranded the iPad version as iPadOS, but unlike eg. tvOS or watchOS it’s still very much the same OS(?)

These API:s specifically they will hopefully support:

Bramus@bram.us

Will Safari support the Viewport Segments API and Device Posture API, allowing one to build interfaces catered for that type of device?

Very nice that one can do this 🙌

Self-hosting PDS (owning identity and data on ATProto). Consuming the PDS firehose locally with a small script and pushing posts to a self-hosted instance of gotosocial via its API. This way I can have a presence on both protocols and retain relative autonomy, ownership and independence.

I wonder what produces best code: - A developer who is used to ecosystem X that has to implement an architecture in ecosystem Y and implements everything in Y as they are used to do it in X - An AI agent implementing the architecture in Y Should the dev focus on implementing in Y or guide an AI?

Throwing shade at other people’s open source projects because they use AI or have npm dependencies or some other thing you have decided is evil / sloppy / bad – that is not okay

Build alternatives, fork, improve – succeed on merit through your aspirations and accomplishment – not by putting labels on others and sinking them

In other news, considering picking up this campaign + a campaign against tools that in any way use the color green. The color of 🤢 only brings harm to society and people’s wellbeing – that’s self evident

Considering banning contributions to my OSS projects written on non-mechanical keyboards. We all know that keyboards affect how code is written and I think it’s time that we all stand up to the recklessness of rubber membrane written code. This is about work environment, welfare and code quality.

It makes sense, yet messes with my brain, yet totally makes sense, yet totally messes with my brain. I guess my only skepticism would be just that, that it messes with my brain, so even if it’s the more logical and superior pattern I’m not sure if I will use it, but will for sure keep it in mind

🔥 New blog post: Dark mode toggles that expose three states (system, light, dark) seem like the best option. Until you think about user goals, that is. Before rushing to disagree, hear me out. lea.verou.me/blog/2026/da... PS: As a data point, @jakearchibald.com was converted after reading this 😅

Important to keep this in mind from @lea.verou.me article as well:

Lea Verou, PhD@lea.verou.me

Yeah, this is specific to the header UI (or sidebar/footer in some cases). Settings panels are a totally different use case. (as explained in this section: lea.verou.me/blog/2026/da... )

The only result will be that we will get intrusive age checks for everyone – challenging privacy and increasing complexity. Kids will still be on social media but wince they are only so undercover we will no longer be able to check on their wellbeing there or mitigate the harmfulness.

This post is unavailable.

On top of that group pressure will make this bad – it’s like games like GTA which have an age rating that should ban kids from playing it but where majority of kids have been playing it and only a minority will have been banned, making those the odd ones (and oddity can be consequential for kids)

Anyone adopted any promising standard/ practice for indicating the level of AI-usage in a software project?

Pelle Wessman@voxpelli.com

Reminds me of eg. usagescale.org, we need ways to disclose AI usage in a nuanced and informative ways. Eg: Was the AI used for code review? For test generation? For tech spec implementation? Or for full on autonomous vibe coding?
