They came for the Haitians and accused them of dog-eating. Before, it was Mexicans, Venezuelans (gangs) Africans s_hole countries, Even Green card, legal residents, US and naturalised citizens are not safe from deportation. When will they come for the Jews and mass deport them to Russia, etc?

What I find very interesting are the number of cultures who immigrate here from the Middle East, southeast Asia, and Asia, who look down upon those immigrants from south of our border. They probably thought “what happens to them couldn’t possibly happen to us.” Guess what, it has & will.

I heard the interview this morning on my drive to work. What a respectful and eloquent young man. I hope he gets justice. Even as a white LPR in the USA, I'm constantly nervous these days about my future, short term and long term.

Fourth of July 2019, I stumbled across a swearing in ceremony at Kill Devil Hills NC. I cried like a baby at the beauty of families in their Sunday best reciting their oath to the US. We are ALL immigrants! Let them be. Help them enter. Fix the process. They are us.

I believe the appointment to become a citizen was, in reality, a sting operation set up by ICE. He even said he was skeptical when he got the letter informing him of the appointment.

SCOTUS told him he had to bring migrant wrongly sent to prison in El Salvador and Trump disobeyed their order. I consider that means to arrest Trump and remove from Whitehouse and jail.

All immigrants and non-resident aliens pay taxes already. Foreign students even have to pay into social security--something they are ineligible to receive unless they later become a permanent resident.

Even undocumented people pay taxes, anyone who works in the US pays taxes on their wages, and anyone who buys anything in the US pays sales tax, undocumented people probably paid more in taxes in the past year than the top 1% have

So this guy, who grew up stateless, in a refugee camp, is more intelligent and better spoken than over 1/2 of our population, as well as the entire Trump regime, and thinks that all children should be equally valued. I can see why this administration wants him out.

My initial thought was why was he arrested, as he seemed to be following all the rules to obtain citizenship. But it's clear after reading the article that he was detained for the "crime" of being pro-Palestinian. I now understand why the real criminals who arrested him wore masks.

When Trump campaigned that he was focused on deporting only violent criminals he lied- it was cover to deport any person of nationality or religion that he doesn’t like. Even people legally here who are going through the correct pathway to citizenship.

This man has more dignity, grace and compassion than trump and all his minions combined. I am horrified that we could do this to any person, let alone someone about to become a citizen. I am grateful that he is in Vermont, however, and not El Salvador. We have got to stop this unlawful regime.

I would be proud of any child of mine who could articulate the importance of the freedoms of speech that the U.S. Constitution guarantees to those living in this country as Mohsen Mahdawi does in this interview. He is a much better fellow citizen than those in power, his jailers, today.
