Scientists are an important part of the federal workforce and their discoveries lead to new small business opportunities in everything from pharma to medical devices. It even betters human health. Why is Trump destroying this pipeline? To give billionaires more tax cuts?

There is a simple reason for this. The more educated you are, the less likely you will believe in propaganda. The uneducated are absolutely certain they know everything but know little. The highly educated know how much they have yet to learn. It's called the Dunning-Kruger effect.

The National Science Foundation should ask the states directly for funding. If the President is willing to lose all the search and scientist to other countries the states can step in as a stopgap until the midterms. I hope we can get the House back, I don't know about the Senate.

As a US scientist in cancer research, his actions made me leave academia the first time he was in office. I now work for a non-US company in the US. I can transfer to Canada or EU office if things get bad enough. I'm not going to stop trying to help patients. I'll just go somewhere else.
