Ruth Buzzi was amazing she and Lucille Ball were among some of the door openers for Gilda Radnor and they all made women's history and comedy very proud. For the longest time comedy was supposed to only be a male gig.

She was on Twitter and would occasionally post; her last was on April 9: "You know you’re old when your walker comes with curb feelers and an airbag." She wasn't quite my cup of tea on "Laugh-In," but she was a tough old bird and I really admired her refusal to give up or give in. Godspeed, Ruth.

Laugh-In was such a great show. I can't remember if it was on the same night as Smothers or Carol Burnett, but I loved all the comedy/variety shows so much. Ms. Buzzi was so funny and weird; perfect for Laugh-In.

Her face was her canvas - didn't need to say a word to get a laugh. When she broke character it was mainly to let the audience stop laughing in order to catch the next laugh. Loved her. (Wondering now: what made HER laugh - ?)

I told Ruth that my sister used to sing a lullaby to my baby nephew. It was a song Ruth sang in a movie called “Once Upon a Brothers Grimm”. Ruth was so moved she sent me one of her prints. God watch over her. RIP.

One evening in the early ‘90s I was having dinner at the Smokehouse in Burbank. I looked over at a nearby table and Ruth Buzzi was having dinner with a gentleman. She noticed me looking at her and screamed “what the f**k are you looking at!”. I’ve never forgotten this moment Ruth Buzzi is dead 💀

😢Bummer. Watched her on Laugh-in growing up and followed her on X (not sure if she was on here, got kinda quiet). Her posts were genuine and worth a giggle, sort of a play on words.
