So the meaning of the word evolved over decades and now therapists are getting pissy about its overuse? Are you sure you know how words work? Maybe you should interview some linguists and lexicographers next? Maybe we can argue about it while the federal government abuses us?

Gaslight is a 1938 British play, which became a British film in 1940. The Ingrid Bergman (American) version was released in 1944. You’re welcome and have not been charged for this lesson.

“It's like ‘watching something happen and then being told that's not what's happening.’” We understand that all gaslighters are liars, but not all liars are gaslighters. What is happening at the federal level is beyond lying. They are creating a false narrative and shaming us for seeing through it

That's what I wanted to say! They are deliberately trying to undermine our sense of reality. Case in point: "Alternative facts." This president literally says things on camera and then 2 seconds later claims he never said it. All. The. Time.

Let’s be real, there are no alternative facts. There are only lies. And we see him lie every single day. He gets caught in lies constantly. Because he is lying to us. Like did you see the Sharpie thing??? And now we have to say he’s not gaslighting us??? Be so for real lmaooooo

The beauty of words is we can use them however we want and if our audience understands us, they were successful words. I have to say, his use of “gaslighting” was an effort to gaslight you. Quite the triple entendre.
