Huh. "Police Squad!" is coming to Netflix on November 1. That's another of those shows that has either never or almost never been streaming anywhere.

This seems odd if you ignore that this is the fruition of the greatest sellout in US history: a decade of Russia luring Trump with bribes, and him and his team reaching for them over and over. And the press has been trained not to connect the dots with three words: Russia, Russia, Russia.

Overall, we are seeing some very odd deal talks that are supposedly a part of ending the war in Ukraine. But in fact evidence shows these deals are structured (in the most recent case secretly until now) to financially benefit Russia or business partners of the Trump and Witkoff families.

One oft forgotten thing: FDR’s court packing threat WORKED. Sure, it did not pass. But SCOTUS conservatives mysteriously decided to either retire or suddenly change their minds about the constitutionality of the minimum wage. Senate Dems slowed down because SCOTUS was backing down.

No one has ever really called Trump out for what would bug him most. The closest was Harris calling him boring, which is why he didn't debate her again. But someone needed to tell him, "Bitch, when will you stop whining?" He couldn't let that go.

the well known shape of deterrence response btw— that certainty of punishment is a much greater deterrent than severity of punishment to the extent that a very rare but incredibly severe punishment is basically not a deterrent at all— explains a lot about our rape culture problem

Deterrence expectations: if we have gruesome, highly visible responses to crime, then no one will commit crime reality: if someone believes that a crime will be taken seriously and could come with even a moderately severe punishment, you've maxed out how deterred people will be

I'm not naive enough to actually believe this will happen, but Democrats could be preparing, right now, lists of impeachment charges against (at a bare minimum) Hegseth, Kennedy, Mullin, Patel, Blanche, & Trump, as well as Bondi, Bovino, & Noem (still worth doing!) that rely purely on public facts,

If we want to clean up Trump's mess — and prevent it from happening again — here are 10 reforms every midterm candidate should support. Call them the “10 Commandments for a Better Government.”

This piece begins to outline what I believe is the right way to prevent presidential corruption, which is to create a mechanism to strip presidents of outside income that might be the product of corruption or insider trading.

CREW@citizensforethics.org

It's imperative that Congress confronts Trump's dangerous conflicts of interest by banning him from earning outside income. Americans need to trust that our government, and especially our president, is working in their best interests, not anyone else’s.
