Not helpful. It's much more complex than that. The system is rigged so that one person doesn't necessarily equal one vote, not to mention many positions are appointed, not elected.

Unless you COMPLETELY got rid of ALL lobbyists, term limits would be an absolute disaster. In a few election cycles all institutional memory of Congress would be gone. You'd have nothing but green rookies--they'd be silly putty in the hands of lobbyists.

So democracy regardless, at the expense of the people if their health declines? Some things aren't worth the risk. The system is full of people that should have retired years ago. They are actively harming democracy by staying.

i'm ok with an age ceiling, but really would prefer not to have term limits. voting is good enough control of terms. i just look at my state and see a hollowed out legislature where think tanks and lobbyists rule since they are the only stable entities. heritage controls the state GOP.

All for an age cap of 70-75 at term start. Some of these reps just won't voluntarily move on, but they got voted in... Topic does remind me of when term limits was such a talking pt among the right. Can tell what a party really stands for by what they railroad into policy.

Look up the NPVIC. It bypasses the EC by assigning electors to the winner of the popular vote rather than the winner of each state. It’s the best we can hope for without a constitutional amendment.

Age caps and term limits for Congress are terrible ideas, easy answers that appeal to lazy people. Congressional primary voter turnout is 18%. And for people under 30, it’s in the single digits. Y’all don’t need term limits or age caps. Just shut up and vote.
