Having experienced at least nine major concussions and numerous severe head injuries throughout his adventurous and accident-prone life, this is also what has been theorized as the cause of Ernest Hemingway committing suicide.

The numbers we used to have before this is the ratio in soccer : rugby : gridiorn were 1:2:10, that 10 just blew up. Still, the issue seems to be the helmets and the use of them as battering rams, somethig that doesn't happen in league, union or afl. That said, they better be studying this.

The movie 'Concussion' from 2015 told the story of immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu a forensic pathologist who fights to make his research known when he links football players' concussions to CTE. In the decade since, capital concentrating NFL owners have just ignored the danger. bsky.app/profile/nyti...

Oh. But Americans love violence much more. Sorry guys. The insane amount your paid should help compensate. America has a twisted love affair with violence. Just a fact. The Alpha male syndrome. Fake men who look stupid and talk even stupider.

We've known this for many years. But - due to the insatiable greed of wealthy white owners nothing is done to protect players. The @NHL is guilty too. And the NHL players are 95% white. Its about MONEY.

At least 1 in 4 also means it could be as many as 4 in 4. CTE autopsies are usually done on the most obvious cases. Some autopsies are not done because people just don't want to know. I give you OJ Simpson. Has anyone heard of a former NFL athlete who was declared to be CTE-free after an autopsy?

Makes you wonder what high hit sports like boxing or UFC would show. Even the pro snow industry whose injuries for falls on aerials are well documented. Former pro snowboarder Kevin Pearce being a well-known example.

Were these players who played some or all or none of their careers during safety rules? Deaths from "old age" or directly due to injury or brain disability over time? What positions did they play?

How many players have to die on the field before something is done? Hell, a few years ago on Thanksgiving MULTIPLE high schoolers in my state died during games!
