remember: its not a data center its a surveillance data processing complex

well, in general, nothing has changed, everything is as usual, libraries, file cabinets, all these are records about us, even rock paintings are not without information 🤣

No he doesn't. He should be arresting Elon Musk for election interference, And instead, he allows the Nazi to continue to do Nazi things. Shapiro is no hero. He should be investigated over the lack of prosecution.

Nope, it's a huge cluster of gpu's & cpu's running training and then the trained deep networks to do things like discover personalized vaccines for cancers (and 1000 other things you don't realize that we will not be able to live without in the near future).

You don`t like data centers? 1. Don`t use ChatGpT if you can figure it out yourself. 2. Delete any permission you have given companies to send you advertising and spam 3. Clean up your cloud storage and delete what is outdated. 4. Don´t use AI. Never!

We are not anti-technology. I believe the internet is a fine invention. The problem with AI is that a monitoring system could currently be built, but also the many data centers and the expansion of fossil fuels. I wouldn't know a valid reason to stop using the internet.

please people i am begging you, stop using google cloud they read your google docs, only place there what you don't care to be observed. use openoffice / notepad / notepad++ / wordpad to do stuff locally, protect your privacy and don't let them train on your ideas and personal information

From day one of the "cloud", as someone who started out with computers around 1967, with degrees in computer communications and encryption, I warned both the gov and employers not to use the cloud or distributed services for storing documents of any sort. Might as well have been speaking to a wall.

None of the big brother's (Google, MS, Meta, etc) care what permissions you list. They still track you and build up files on you. There are no privacy laws in the US. What little there is is ignored. Without regulation and enforcement, settings are useless.

Just finished watching THE CAPTURE on Peacock, it's absolutely CHILLING. I said that's why they are building so many "data centers". The premise is based on excessive AI "deep fake" manipulation of media TO THE EXTREME to manipulate political results. Watch and be aware. It may soon be happening.

It seems to me that where they are placing massive data centers, like Gary, Indiana, are the very places where marginalized populations are severely impacted by the rise in electric prices, and impacted by the pollution of drinking water.

Yes and all to keep track of who’s Dem or Rep who’s posting against the gov who your calling. They will use this to put you into those huge detention centers never to be seen again.

Yes. I love this. Call things what they are. Maybe containment has more punch, though. Do you think? Surveillance Data Containment Complex. Not just processing. Collecting. The creepiest shit. I wish 1984 wasn't written SO incredibly well, that they were able to make it a movie for the idiots.

That's what I think as well. I'm not fundamentally against AI and (a few) datacenters, but I'm pretty sure they will not be used to solve humanities greatest problems like the climate, hunger or diseases, but as you say: surveillance data processing to control the people.

Here it is with alt text which is important because it makes images accessible to people who use screen readers or have images turned off, ensuring they understand the content and purpose of visuals on a page. It also helps search engines index images properly for better search results.

Does anyone think we can trust these tech bros? When is the last time they didn't lie to everyone about their real motivations? Everything they do is meant to line their pockets at our expense.

Yup ... video and image slop have been around and doing fine for a while. That's not what these data centers are for. They are for tracking and trending society for surveillance and political societal manipulation.

These dumbasses think that the mega data centers will make their wifi faster. Kellyanne Conway told them that their microwave ovens were watching; she didn’t tell them that their dog chips were feeding fascist crap into their tv dinners

Data Centers are also how AI will attain intelligence far, far superior to any human who has ever lived. Already, Open AI has been found going behind its handlers' backs to escape sandbox confinement, and run routines unknown to its creators. Definitely, not cool. It'll get much worse. Bet on it!

Bluesky has its own servers, and they are not hosted in huge data centers, but use a distributed architecture. Data centers are not necessary to the internet, by the way, and the internet existed long before the data centers.

Fair point - distributed architecture is software, not hardware. Bluesky’s federated network spreads data across independent servers, but those servers still physically live in data centers (like AWS). It just distributes the load across many hubs instead of one single facility.

Many people don't realize this. Those electric and water guzzling abominations do a fuk lot more than assist AI computations. They are where everything they can scrape or steal off the internet is stored (memory prices going thru the roof demonstrate this) Tech Bros are not your friends.

AI Data Centers are also propaganda machines They can fabricate your guilt in a crime or violate your privacy on large scale It can make anyone of any age a porno star against their will They steal jobs making people obsolete They drive up your power & water bills or just steal it all from you

PS AI Data Centers also Create -NOISE & LIGHT POLLUTION- to the point of disturbing local livestock (interfering w/ animal welfare), & violating ordinances that result in greatly disrupting residence nearby Often they are built o land that was to be preserved OR taken from bankrupt farmers etc

".Psychological warfare? “Totally. That’s what it is. Psyops. Psychological operations – the same methods the military use to effect mass sentiment change. It’s what they mean by winning ‘hearts and minds’. We were just doing it to win elections in countries with less rules"

I think it's also a crypto currency mining operation. There's gotta be some profits being made there, somewhere. They wouldn't be slapping them up anywhere they can if there wasn't money to be made.
