I wrote about a particularly embarrassing few weeks for AI hype, and how big tech is desperate to get ahead of an economic collapse they'll be directly responsible for (in more ways than one)

As usual, nail right on the head. The largest problems with AI are absolutely NOT what AI is capable of, or what it would take to get it work, but the approach towards it by the people who'll nominally control it's destiny and just what a horrible way they've sold the whole endeavor.

the technofascists also lobotomized all our regulators who'd enforce any sort of ethical and labor guardrails (if we had any), which I didn't really get into that is...bad

They turned 'Regulation' into a perjorative and look where we are now (don't read about the return of screwflies absolutely destroying livestock).
