I am currently outside our local library where my son is trying to sell copies of a newspaper he wrote about how he “saw Bigfoot.” He has not yet been successful. I did try to warn him about the industry.

The rush of quiet gratitude I just felt to the dad who just had his kids buy two copies. There really are a lot of great people in the world.

I used to feel the same way when my boys would have lemonade stands. I’d be so worried they’d not make money and would get sad, but adults were always SO generous. And now I am sure to stop and buy whatever kids are selling. 😆
