I’ve wondered if these folks are ever bothered that they’re being lied to or if they even know. I guess the answer is it doesn’t matter either way.

Can someone post personal business sources of elected republicans- and post boycott requests for these businesses. I bet their pocketbooks are stronger incentives than fear of oligarch power.

If Trump proposes war on democratic cities, democratic cities should prooose general strike in their cities. Shutting down the American economic engine shows where the power lies. Thiel et al follow their pocketbook.

I suspect in their minds they see it as a wrestling exaggeration of something in essence true (the essence is not true).

I've said for years that the govt needs to address the right wing disinfo silo. I know - 1A and all that - but it's now a crisis. I recently read The Chaos Machine (@max-fisher.bsky.social) which explains the power of social media algorithms to build that impermeable bubble.

I think Trump has his own reality, but it helps that his favorite news source is Fox. Whatever they feed him, he takes, including their employees. A lot of people seem to get locked into their own bubbles of craziness. Apart from shutting off their news sources, I don't know how to fix it.

I think part of this problem is the absence of critical thinking skills. This has been cultivated by the conservative drive for school testing. Children are taught to pass a state/mandated test. That’s all. Add to that the toxic, counter factual right wing media bubble. Then layer on social media…

Fuck them. There are runts in every litter. The only effective way to constrain Trump is to not fund him at all. Until the next inaugural, just keep it shut down. It’s what the gop has always wanted. Let the voting public see what their plan looks like. It will end the gop for good.

That's most of it right there. Equality is a threat to those who used to be dominant, and there is absolutely no limit to what they will do to get it back.

Dead on. Yes. We need to stop wasting time starting with the premise that they are being illogical (e.g., unequal justice cases, tariffs, immigration) and start with they are working to completely dominate 95% of the population through law and economics to insulate themselves from any discomfort.
