Attn news commentators: Trump saying he could use force to obtain Greenland but won’t is not Trump saying he won’t use force to obtain Greenland. It is Trump using force as a threat to obtain Greenland. That is why he mentions it.
If I walk up to you with hammer and say “I could break your knees if you don’t give me $20 but I won’t,” would you feel relieved that I’d ruled out breaking your knees?
He was later asked by a reporter why he said the military is "off the table" for Greenland and replied "we'll see what happens" before adding "The military is not on the table" because he doesn't "think it will be necessary."
Always the same mobspeak doubletalk. He won't but he has the absolute right to. Also we'll see what happens. He's not saying he will but he could if he decided to, but he has decided not to, but remember the important thing is he has the right to.
Yes. And even if Trump is appearing to rule out force, he is capable of misdirection.
Remember, Trump made disparaging comments about the B2 and its stealth technology when in Qatar in May 2025, before using them to bomb Iran the following month.
Is anybody in the media world going to point out that Congress would have to appropriate money to buy Greenland and the Senate would have to ratify a treaty to make it happen?
Like we did a couple of centuries ago?
Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
Yeah this is him imagining himself to be president deals, believing there's one to be made and he's the only one who can do it. The military threat seems to be very clearly there?
Dear John Roberts:
You could drop that SCOTUS decision that Trump’s use of tariffs are unconstitutional and need to stop at any time.
Like, now would be great. It’s widely anticipated that even your 6-3 court is going to rule against Trump’s ridiculous tariffs.
Drop that decision asap.
