You mean gas price deflation specifically (as a headwind to EV / long term fix) or macro input-driven deflation or both? I think generally we want the future supply surplus (if it ever happens…) to pass back to consumers (or to public via taxation)

The top-level goal by 2032 Oct is for voters to go 'what's gas, never heard of it' b/c voters have no long-term memory. The industry/climate/health benefits are almost unimportant compared to that...

I'm in my late 30s and have seen three major gas price shocks. Every time, buyers go right back to fuel-guzzling SUVs and trucks. Used Civics and Model 3s now sell for comparable prices. Good three-row EV SUVs are only now arriving. Eventually, consumers have to wise up.

Part of my excitement about going fully remote is not having to carpool or spend 100 bucks a week on gas (my work is at a manufacturing plant with no public transit access)
