Surely it's just fine and dandy to carry a gun around the Washington Monument, just like Republicans say it's fine to carry guns on streets and in malls and parks all across America, right? I mean, there's no way they would have special rules for areas they frequent, would they?

Downplaying a child being shot? You really are afraid of this administration. I remember when journalists had balls. Probably why you sat on the sidelines today while the Pulitzers were being awarded.

Plainclothes officers determined a person had a gun and called for backup. Did they wait for that backup or just escalate immediately? Because with this admin, I assume they just opened fire and didn't check who or what was behind the person they were shooting at. Way to go on the passive voice.

That’s what I’d like to know more about too. Because this sure seems like people in regular clothes started shooting at someone who may have been legally carrying a gun.

As close to the WH as it sounds like it was, I don't think it's legally carried. Weird that the people who rant most about the 2nd Amendment have their safe spaces, but no-one else can.

Oh you forgot about the most important you ragtag of a news organization. And it should have been in the title . they fucking shot a child you monster

hey underpaid intern/overworked and depressed writer, let your bosses know we noticed they asked you to omit the child that was also shot. might wanna hop on that before this becomes an issue

Also…if he was encountered by the National Mall & the Washington Monument, that’s over a mile away from the WH. Jesus Christ…stop with the sensationalist headlines.
